Jeff Barnes has built my last two homes, the most recent one under his company Cedar Hill Custom Homes.  Both of these projects were relatively large and the most recent project was about 19,000 square feet. 

I cannot imagine having a better builder in terms of knowledge, skill and most important, integrity.  Jeff does not bluff on issues.  If he does not have an answer he will tell you he has no idea and then his approach is to figure it out.  When problems arise (and they will) my experience has been for Jeff to acknowledge the issue and then focus on how to resolve the problem in a transparent and collaborative manner.  This is refreshing from the standard approach by lesser builders of denying the existence, or just covering up, problems, errors or mistakes. 

I also had the opportunity to observe Jeff interact with his subcontractors.  Jeff is tough, but fair.  During the building process you get a lot of face time with these skilled trades without the builder present.  The vast majority of these subs told me that Jeff Barnes is by far their favorite builder to work for in terms of direction, support and fairness.
